Adding Pictures, web links etc to a forum post
HI folks.
This was requested by a member so here goes.
NOTE: it seems that some pictures will not display when linked. This is why some of the EBAY listings that have been posted have no picture. I think this may be due to certain sites adding odd characters to the link (i.e. ! or ~) which cause the links to not work.
(This admin has found that photobucket seems to be the most reliable site for storing pictures with compatable links)
I will contact the ForumMotion support to see if there is an answer.
HOW TO ADD PICTURES TO FORUM POSTS.
1. Picture will need to hosted off site as the forum space is limited for image storage.
There are many services that offer this service i.e. flickr, photobucket etc.
Some are defenitley easier to use than others though!
2. From your hosting site you will need to copy the "link location"
With Flickr:
1. open the picture you want
2. select the "copy image location" (firefox (shown below)) or "copy shortcut" (IE)

With Photobucket
1. open the picture you want
2. from the Menu on the right of the picture click on the DIRECT LINK option and a brief "copied" notice will appear (Shown Below).

Now start your new forum post.
along the top of the of the post body window is a series of icons. The relevant ones are in the red box. (shown Below)
Click the "add an image" icon and a little drop down box will appear.
Click in the box and either Right click and choose paste or press "ctrl + V"
The link should now appear in the box
Click OK to add the image.

ADDING WEB LINKS
The same principle applies for adding web links. This time however you will get TWO fields in the drop down menu.
The top one that looks like a chain is where you type or paste the actual web address.
The lower field is where you enter the text text you would like to "represent" the link.
i.e. Only entering http://www.bbc.co.uk in the top box and
clicking ok will display a link for http://www.bbc.co.uk
If you add
"click here for the BBC" you link will read "click here for the BBC"
and will take the viewer to www.bbc.co.uk when clicked
ADDING FLASH PICTURES/ANIMATION
Some sites like Photobucket allow you to use a "widget" called FLASH to display your picture. I believe this makes it harder for people to steal images.
Try right clicking on an image on the EKG Homepage to see what i mean.
ADDING VIDEO
Links to videos from certain sites i.e. Youtube, Dailymotion and Google Video can be added with this button.
Hope this helps
